BYFC Players involved in Tournament win for Ballynahinch Primary School !!!
BPS entered the first ever “Down High School Primary 5 Football Tournament” and guess what, They won it! The Team was outstanding, winning every match. With most of the players being members of Ballynahinch Youth FC.
The League section went as follows:
Beat Newcastle P.S. 2-0 (Daniel Hewitt, Ross Hunter)
Beat Downpatrick P.S. 6-0 (Edan Reid 4, Naseem Ouldhamlet, Ross H)
Beat Newcastle P.S. 6-1 (Ross H 4, Jonny Shannon, Daniel Hewitt)
Beat Downpatrick P.S. 7-0 (Daniel H 2, Naseem 2, Edan Reid 3)
In the Semi-Final they were up against Down High Prep, who were runners-up in the other League. We won this match 4-0 (Jonny Shannon 1, Ross H 1, Edan Reid 1, Daniel Hewitt 1)
The Final was much closer, as were up against our old rivals, Academy P.S.. This was a really good, tense match, where all 12 of our squad played their part. If finished 0-0 so the Final had to be decided on a penalty shoot out.
We won 3-1 (Ross H 1, Edan Reid 1, Jonny Shannon 1). Let’s not forget our two Goalkeepers, Daniel Douglas & Harry Kinnear, both of whom pulled off a penalty save!
The other members of the squad were Joe Charles, Charlotte Spratt, Daniel McKibbin & Holly Lyons, all of whom played brilliantly!
